"As above, so below" is a principle that embodies the truth that there is always a correspondence between the laws and phenomena of the various planes of being and life. At The Plant Mystic, we bring the gifts of nature to support our life path, and we also recognize that we ARE nature.  The outer world is a reflection of our inner world, creating a vibrational frequency that attracts similar experiences and circumstances into our lives. Our thoughts, beliefs and emotions shape our reality, so cultivating positive thoughts and intentions aligned with our life purpose can manifest opportunities and synchronicities that support our journey. In this way, we are active co-creators of our reality.

With reiki, we tap into universal life force energy and allow it to move through us, so the aspects not aligned with our highest selves come to the surface to be witnessed and released. 

Individual Sessions are booked Mon/Tues/Fri 9-5, and Wed/Thurs 9-12pm, and can be made by emailing Melanie directly at [email protected].

Reiki

Reiki is a light-touch, energy based healing modality that supports the body in accessing life force energy to connect with it's innate ability to heal. 
Reiki is a light-touch, energy based healing modality that supports the body in accessing life force energy to connect with it's innate ability to heal. Benefits can include:
  • reduced pain and insomnia 
  • decreased symptoms associated with anxiety and depression
  • insight and clearing support around what no longer serves
  • enhanced chi and immune function
  • decrease in symptoms associated with medications
  • sense of  personal grounding, clarity, and alignment
  • enhanced body-heart-mind integration before/during/after a difficult transition

Sessions are 75-90 minutes in length, including an introductory discussion to set a clear intention for the session, and a debrief after the session to discuss the messages that came through to support the person's journey and alignment with their intention.

​Following each session, clients receive a written overview of the session for their own records.

Reiki Training

Are you interested in improving your connection with Source and learning how to work with your Higher Self to support others in their personal development and healing process?
I am delighted to extend an invitation this invitation to seekers, healers, and caregivers, for a unique and transformative opportunity to receive your Reiki Level 1 & 2 training and attunements. ​The spiritual practice of Reiki will enhance your connection with Source and enable you to access the higher dimensions to provide healing and guidance to yourself and others. 

During this training, you will learn how to work with Source, your Higher Self, and the Higher Self of the client, to support personal development and healing processes. By understanding the principles and techniques of Reiki, you will gain the ability to channel energy and promote healing on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. Moreover, you will be taught how to maintain your own well-being while helping others, ensuring that you do not deplete your own energy reserves. We will also work through topics such as addictions, mental health, repatterning old beliefs, being trauma-informed, and how to create a professional healing practice. This sets the foundation for sustainable and effective healing work, allowing you to be a powerful source of support for those in need. 
This training will be a catalyst for personal and spiritual growth, as well as an empowering tool for assisting others on their journey. I encourage you to embrace this opportunity and embark on a path of self-discovery and service to humanity. ​
Level 1 In-Class Dates
Option 1: 10-4pm Sunday November 3rd
Option 2: Wednesdays 6-8pm November 6th, 13th, and 20th

Level 2 In-Class Dates: (must begin a minimum of 21d from Level 1 completion):
Option 1: Sunday January 5th 10-4pm
Option 2: Wednesdays 6-8pm January 8th, 15th, and 22nd

* Note: students are asked to use the time between Level 1 completion and Level 2 commencement for practice projects and shared learning experiences via our online Community of Practice Circle.

Fee and Structure:
$800 for set of Level 1 & 2, with up to $300 available to be traded on barter. Training includes:
  • Pre-class telephone consultation
  • 90min online Reiki History and Overview Module
  • Printed Reiki Level 1 and 2 Manual
  • One In-person class & Attunement per Level
  • Community of Practice Circle (online) to cultivate community and personal practice
  • Certificate of Completion after each Level
  • One 30 min follow-up consultation 3 months after completion
  • A one-on-one supervised practice session following completion of Level 2

* Barter opportunities include those tasks associated with supporting our collective space at The Inner Arts Collective (eg., cleaning, administrative support, event support). 
In addition, each option offers the following:
  • Supervised practice sessions ($100), where you practice on another under Melanie's supervision, using one of the treatment rooms at The Inner Arts Collective.
  • 90min Business Start-Up Consultation, to craft your bio, practice images, service offerings, and marketing tips to get you started in your practice ($250)
  • 6mo Student Membership at The Inner Arts Collective, offering website profile page, and professional space to see clients and build your practice (pending Level 2 completion and Membership Application & Contract: $70/mo + $20/hr for room rental)

Reiki Share

If you are a Level 1, 2, or 3 practitioner and are looking for a Reiki Share that brings together practitioners of different lineages to give and receive to one another in a supportive, inclusive and professional atmosphere, then please consider joining us at our monthly Reiki Shares!

The Shares are held monthly on Tuesdays from 6-9pm, with our last circles for the year being September 24, October 22, Nov 26, 

To Register, please join our Reiki Circle on the Inner Arts Hive (our complementary online circle for sharing resources and building connection), and RSVP within the "Home" section of the Hive within the event listing.

About Melanie

Melanie is propelled by a dedication to wellness. She combines her lived experience, formal education (Esoteric Studies, Health Science, Eco-Therapy, Reiki) and 25 years in the health, research, and psycho-spiritual sectors to share the natural interconnectedness of nature, passage, energy and divination with her communities. 

She keeps one foot rooted in service delivery and the other in systemic change. Individual services include energy healing, hand analysis, and nature retreats. Systemic efforts are largely as Co-Founder of the Inner Arts Collective and the Rosseau Sanctuary, two intentional communities that promote access, collaboration, and integrity within the healing arts sector, based on the concepts of collaborative economy and ecological sustainability.

Beginning with front-line addictions counselling (8 yrs), Melanie gained experience creating safe space, nurturing the healing process with mainstream and alternative tools and processes, and developing an awareness of issues around diversity and social determinants of health. Her career naturally evolved into program design, community research, and partnership initiatives (12 years), using findings to advocate across the social determinants of health at personal, organizational and systemic levels. Concurrent to her counselling and community development careers, Melanie practiced as a palmist (25yrs), with appearances on the Discovery Channel, Steve and Chris Show, Psychic Society of Toronto, and numerous radio shows. She began practicing Reiki when she became a mother in 2006, and has since done hundreds of sessions and taught dozens of Reiki practitioners internationally.​
For Melanie, the hand and the body are living maps, vessels responding to the conditions of their experience, with their own stories to tell. Reiki and Palmistry are simply tools to understand the story, reveal the strength and beauty of our nature, learn from our lessons, release what no longer serves, and become the most fulfilled versions of ourselves. ​
